CliffHays[.weebly.com] PRIVACY POLICY
Cliff Hays (“I”) is/am committed to protecting the privacy of all users of my website. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand what information I gather, how I use it, what I do to protect it, and to assist you in making informed decisions when using my website.
For purposes of this Agreement, the terms “I” and “my” refer to Cliff Hays, and “You” refers to you, as a user of this website.
I. CONSENT
By accessing this website, you accept this Privacy Policy, and you consent to the collection, storage, and use of the information as described herein.
II. INFORMATION I COLLECT
I may collect “Non-Personal Information” or "Personal Information" about you depending on your activities on my website. “Non-Personal Information” which Google Analytics automatically collects is never used to personally identify you: for example anonymous usage data, referring/exit pages and URLs, and platform types. This data is only used to give me an idea of what pages are being visited and from what countries my visitors are coming. Read the Analytics section of How Google Uses Cookies to learn about how cookies are used by Google Analytics.
If you submit the contact form, whatever “Personal Information” you provide (i.e. your name and email address) will only be used by me to contact you and/or to send you newsletters (if you request to be added to the emailing list). Similarly, if you submit a comment on a blog post, it is your choice how little or much information you provide (anonymous comments are allowed). If you wish to share your email with a comment, it will not be published, it will only be used to notify you of replies to your comment and/or new comments on the post.
Regardless of how little or how much information you choose to provide via the contact form or by commenting, your unpublished information will never be shared with anyone other than me.
III. HOW I USE AND DO NOT SHARE INFORMATION
Personal Information:
I do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share your Personal Information with third parties. As stated above, whatever information you do submit via the contact form or by commenting will only be used by me to contact you, to send you newsletters, and/or to notify you of new comments related to yours, and under no circumstances will be shared with anyone other than me.
Non-Personal Information:
In general, I use Non-Personal Information to help motivate me to continue maintaining and publishing to the website. Just the fact that I receive a nonzero number of visitors to my website from multiple countries all around the world every day motivates me to keep adding content to and improving it.
Stated differently, I only use Google Analytics to aggregate Non-Personal Information in order to track trends and analyze usage patterns of my website. As aforementioned [see section II], the anonymous usage data collected only gives me an idea of what pages are being visited and from which countries those visitors are coming.
Most importantly, I will never use the anonymous data in an attempt to personally identify anyone [cf. GDPR Art. 11].
IV. HOW I PROTECT INFORMATION
I implement reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices in order to protect your Personal Information and ensure that such Personal Information is not accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such precautions. By using this website, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.
V. YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING THE USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You have the right at any time to prevent me from contacting you for marketing purposes. When I send a promotional communication to a user, the user can opt out of further promotional communications by following the unsubscribe link provided in each promotional email.
VI. WEEBLY
This website is hosted by Weebly, Inc. (“Weebly”). Weebly provides me with the online web platform that allows me to provide the website to you. Your information, including Personal Information, may be stored through Weebly’s servers. By using this website, you consent to Weebly’s collection, disclosure, storage, and use of your Personal Information in accordance with Weebly’s privacy policy.
VII. LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
As part of this website, I may provide links to other websites or applications. However, I am not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by this website. Therefore, this Privacy Policy does not apply to your use of a third-party website accessed by clicking a link via this website. To the extent that you access or use this website through or on another website or application, then the privacy policy of that other website or application will apply to your access or use of that site or application.
I encourage all users to read the privacy statements of other websites before proceeding to use them.
XIII. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
I reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. If I decide to change this Privacy Policy, I will post the changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information I collect and how I use it. Any such modifications become effective upon your continued access to and/or use of the website. It is your sole responsibility to check this website from time to time to view any such changes to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to any changes, if and when such changes may be made to this Privacy Policy, you must cease to access this website.
IX. MERGER OR ACQUISITION
In the event that cliffhays.weebly.com (or Weebly) undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your Personal Information may be among the assets transferred. You acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur and are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of my (or Weebly’s) assets may continue to process your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. If my information practices change at any time in the future, I will post the policy changes here so that you may opt out of the new information practices. I suggest that you check this Privacy Policy periodically if you are concerned about how your information is used.

XI. CONTACT ME & WITHDRAWING CONSENT
If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy or the practices of this Site, or wish to withdraw your consent for the continued collection or use of your Personal Information, please contact me by sending an email via the contact form.
XII. APPLICABILITY & SUMMARY
This privacy policy may be unnecessary, but I have included it just in case it is necessary. According to this breakdown by okta, since (a) I do not have $25 million dollars or more in annual gross revenues, (b) I do not receive the personal information of at least 50K consumers / households / devices, and (c) I do not derive any revenue from selling anyone's personal information [since I do not share anyone's personal information], the CCPA (which requires the Privacy Policy) might not apply to this website.
Some other facts about this site:
- (d) it has no ads [except for the Weebly footer]
- (e) it has no affiliate links
- (f) it is not an e-commerce site
- (g) Visitors in the past five years:
- 62.17% from Americas

- 11.20% from EU
- 2.10% from Australia
- 1.55% from Russia
- 0.88% from Turkey
- 0.70% from Nigeria
In addition to the fact that I am probably not legally classified as a business [see (a)−(f)], some other reasons that GDPR likely does not apply to this site are that (h) I am based outside the EU, (i) my site is available to users outside the EU, (j) users can use this site when they travel to other countries (including within the EU), and (k) this site is not targeted specifically at individuals in the EU [cf. When the regulation does not apply (European Commission)].
Moreover, with reference to (i)−(k) see (g).
Summary:
As stated above, I do use Google Analytics to monitor anonymous traffic on my website, have a contact form, emailing list, and allow comments on my blog posts, but to my knowledge there is no other data collection happening on this site.
Thanks for reading all the way to the end!
